TEACHING DEPARTMENT

The goal of the Department is to promote and disseminate specialized knowledge in community mental health for children, young people and families.

We provide teaching for training programmes in the specialized areas of:

Child and adolescent clinical psychology

Psychiatry

Social work and social education

And specialized training is given in specific techniques in psychotherapy.

Our aim is to provide in-depth training for future professionals and specialists working with children, young people and families. We have a range of teaching formats to further specialized technical knowledge and enhance skills in performing diagnoses and treatment.

The teaching is given through diverse activities such as: observation of the diagnostic process and individual and/or group treatment. Depending on the academic year, the professional receiving training, can carry out different healthcare activities directly with patients (under the supervision of a tutor).

Furthermore, depending on agreements and timeframes for work experience, the professional in training can attend:

Clinical sessions

Internal work days

Supervision

Seminars

It is part of our mission to be a:

· Collaborating centre in the organization and theoretical teaching of practical work. Today we form part of the following:

– “Master in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy for working in the Public Network”, organized by the University of Barcelona.

– “Postgraduate programme in Couple and Family Therapy”, organized by the Vidal i Barraquer University Institute of Mental Health. Ramon Llull University. With the collaboration of the Postgraduate School of Psychology Agostino Gemelli of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan.

· Centre of clinical practice through agreements with different Catalan, state and international universities. The universities we have agreements with are:

If you are interested in an undertaking a work placement with us you can apply if your training is affiliated with a national or international centre that can sign a work placement agreement with our institution.
