Presentation

Since 2003, the main aim of this weekly Journal has been to promote advances in theoretical knowledge, research, clinical practice and psychiatric healthcare for children and young people. It also aspires to being a space for disseminating a healthcare model based on relational psychology, as well as being open to all professionals and the different lines of research and thought in this field. Edited and published with the support of the Board of Trustees of the Orienta Foundation this Journal constitutes a clear expression of the ideas that, since its beginnings, our institution has defended and promoted. The Journal covers a range of different areas: clinical, institutional, interdisciplinary and research.

    Publication guidelines

Original articles may be related to the following areas:

    • Clinical: subjects related to child and adolescent psychopathology
    • Institutional: experiences of inpatient healthcare, total and partial hospitalization, group work
    • Interdisciplinary: contributions from the fields of pediatrics, neurology, social sciences, legal matters, education
    • Research: studies and research projects in epidemiology, psychotherapy and psychopharmacology
    • Second publication: in accordance with the Vancouver criteria and recommendations, articles or work already published in other journals and/or language may also be published because of their particular relevance.

In addition, the Journal has independent sections dedicated to reviews of books and scientific activity, as well as letters from readers.

    Manuscript submission

    1. Any work published has to be anonymous
    2. The manuscripts are presented with double spacing throughout and, in general, should have a maximum length of 35,000 characters (approximately 15 pages A4).

They should be organized as follows:

    Title page

    1. Title of the article in Spanish and English
    2. Name of the author(s), and profession and workplace of each. An e-mail address must be included to which readers can write
    3. Name of the institution or centre to which the work is attributed
    4. Waivers, if applicable
    • Summary in Spanish and English of no more than 450 characters (around seven lines), which includes the key concepts of the presented work, together with three to five keywords, also in Spanish and English.
    • The article begins on the third page. In general, and assuming it is considered appropriate, it will be organized as follows:
    1. Introduction
    2. Material/method
    3. Results
    4. Discussion
    5. Conclusions
    • Acknowledgements
    • Notes: the footnotes go in this section.
    • APA style bibliography.
    • Tables and graphs: presented on independent pages, numbered consecutively, according to the order they appear in in the text, with a short title for each. If abbreviations or symbols are used, the explanation should be included below the corresponding figure or table.

Each of these sections will begin on a new page, numbered consecutively.

    Publication Protocol

      1. The material received will be reviewed anonymously by a Committee of Readers, comprising experts from the different fields. The authors will be informed if the manuscript has been accepted and, if any modifications need to be made, they will receive suggestions from the corresponding readers.
      2. Accepted manuscripts will be subjected to an editing and correcting process based on the Journal’s style guide. The content of the articles is the exclusive responsibility of the author.
      3. Readers’ letters will be accepted that are aimed at furthering debate on the published material or mental health-related issues. The opinions expressed are only attributable to their authors and do not reflect the opinion of the Journal. The letters can be no more than 5,000 characters and must be double spaced and signed.
      4. Manuscripts are sent by e-mail in Word format to: revista@fundacioorienta.com

    Exchange request

With the purpose of promoting the dissemination of content related to the subject of the Journal, our editorial policy offers the chance to exchange copies, both printed and online, with those publications it considers are suitable. To do this, an e-mail must be sent to revista@fundacioorienta.com with the details of the publication being offered: editing institution, name, postal address, ISSN, website and contact details.
