The Revista de Psicopatología y Salud Mental del niño y del adolescente (Journal of child and adolescent Psychopathology and Mental Health) first appeared in April 2003. Published by semesters and in Spanish, this publication has as its main goal to deepen in the theoretical understanding, research, clinical practice and psychiatric attention of child and adolescent mental health.
It also wishes to be an organ of diffusion, gathering all professionals, and integrating the current different lines of research and thought within the field of child and adolescent mental health. Grounded on the caring model of relational psychology, it intends to represent workers and researchers from both public and private practice..
The ideology of the journal is in coherence with the line of thought that Fundació Orienta has promoted throughout 30 years. For this reason, the Board of Governors has offered to edit and publish this journal thus guaranteeing its viability. The scientific imprint of the publication is endorsed by an assessing and reading committee that looks after the seriousness and quality of its contents. For these reasons, the journal defines itself as an independent, plural, scientific and rigorous media.
The journal includes contributions from different fields: clinical –topics on infant and juvenile psychopathology–; institutional –experiences from outpatient services, partial and total hospitalization, and group work–; interdisciplinary –contributions from paediatrics, neurology, social and judicial sciences, or pedagogy–; research –reports, studies and articles of epidemiologic, psychotherapeutic or psychopharmacological research-. It also holds sections dedicated to bibliographical novelties, revisions, an activities agenda and letters from the readers.
The undertaking of this set of ideas is only possible if we can count on the contributions from all professionals, and specially from those who from their theoretical reflection, clinical practice or research, are carrying out tasks of renown prestige within the field of child and adolescent mental health. For this reason, we reiterate our invitation for you to participate in this journal with papers, or other materials of interest, which we will be glad to include in forthcoming issues.
Together with the composition of the Editorial Board, Advisory Board and Technical Staff, we are pleased to send you a copy of our journal, where you will also find detailed publication guidelines. If you would like to receive further information, or have any other inquiries, you may contact Rubén D. Gualtero, the editing coordinator, who will kindly attend you at: recerca@fundacioorienta.com.
